Student Leadership Team
In June 2010, ten young people from different areas of the United States and Canada will be selected to plan the 2012 International Youth Convention. The selection committee will be broad in representation and thorough in its investigation of the individuals nominated for this honor. Interviews will be conducted by telephone. Ten nominees will be chosen. Those chosen as Student Leadership Team members will be announced during IYC2010.
The student team meets together with the Youth Ministry Team in the convention city, usually during the winter eighteen months before the upcoming convention. Together, they plan the main components of schedule and speaker and artist choices. They typically come back together about twelve months before the convention to work out the student conference schedule and leaders.
The students are given many opportunities to grow in their spiritual walk and develop their leadership gifts. Their role extends beyond just planning. It involves having youth ministry leaders pour into them and developing as leaders. The members of the Student Leadership Team work hard and play hard; they are given opportunities to participate in some incredible community and team-building exercises.
Nominations for the 2012 Student Leadership Team are now closed. Thank you for submitting your nominations.
